Saints Louis and Zelie Martin are an example of how the vocation of marriage is an actual vocation. In our culture, we so often forget that marriage isn’t the default vocation. Marriage, like consecrated life, is something to be called to and discern, every step of the way.... Both Louis and Zelie desired religious life, but found that was not where God was calling them. They both had to listen to God’s voice in choosing one another and they discerned their vocation together.
We ask their prayers and follow their example in how marriage should sanctify both spouses....
