PUT ON THE ARMOUR OF GOD - Ephesians 6:10-20 --- Efesin 6:10-20

John 8:44b ... the devil was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

from St Paul's letter to the Ephesians 6:10-20

Battle Against Evil. 10 Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. 11 Put on the armour of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. 13 Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground. 14 So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, 15 and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all [the] flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Constant Prayer.18 With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones 19 and also for me, that speech may be given me to open my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, so that I may have the courage to speak as I must.

mill-Ittra ta' San Pawl lil Efesin 6:10-20

Il-ġlieda kontra l-ħażen
[Efes:6:10] Mill-bqija, twettqu fil-Mulej u ssaħħu bil-qawwa tiegħu. [Efes:6:11] Ilbsu l-armatura ta' Alla biex tkunu tifilħu tieqfu għat-tnassis tax-Xitan. [Efes:6:12] Għax il-ġlieda tagħna m'hijiex kontra d-demm u l-laħam, imma kontra s-Setgħat, kontra l-Qawwiet, kontra l-Prinċpijiet ta' din id-dinja ta' dlamijiet, kontra l-ispirti ħżiena li jgħammru fil-wisa' tas-smewwiet. [Efes:6:13] Għalhekk ħudu fuqkom  l-armatura ta' Alla, ħalli tkunu tistgħu tieqfu fi żmien il-ħażen, u, wara li tkunu għamiltu ħilitkom kollha, żżommu weqfin. [Efes:6:14] Żommu sħiħ, mela, ħażżmu ġenbejkom bil-verità, ilbsu l-kurazza tal-ġustizzja, [Efes:6:15] u xiddu riġlejkom bil-ħeġġa ta' l-Evanġelju tas-sliem; [Efes:6:16] ħudu f'idejkom it-tarka tal-fidi; li biha tistgħu titfu l-vleġeġ kollha tan-nar tal-Ħażin; [Efes:6:17] ilbsu l-elmu tas-salvazzjoni u aqbdu x-xabla ta' l-Ispirtu li hi l-kelma ta' Alla.
[Efes:6:18] Itolbu dejjem fl-Ispirtu, b'kull xorta ta' talb u f'kull ħtieġa, ishru fih bla ma tieqfu, u itolbu għall-ħtiġiet tal-qaddisin kollha. [Efes:6:19] Itolbu għalija wkoll, biex meta niftaħ fommi tingħatali l-kelma, ħalli b'wiċċi minn quddiem inxandar il-misteru ta' l-Evanġelju, [Efes:6:20] li tiegħu jiena  l-ambaxxatur fil-ktajjen. Jalla jien u nxandar nkun nista' nitkellem b'wiċċi minn quddiem kif għandi nagħmel.

PRAYERS:-

Any believing Catholic, can privately BIND the evil spirits.
This has been a practice from the time of the early Church.
(This is NOT an exorcism - which is only done by an ordained  priest or deacon.)

Here is the prayer....

IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I BIND YOU, SPIRIT OF...
= (insert a description of whatever is pestering us)
  1. Pride - and the race for power
  2. Disobedience - to God's law; to our superiors
  3. Division - lack of unity
  4. Covetousness - the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual.
  5. Lust - the inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
  6. Anger - wrath
  7. Gluttony - the excessive indulgence in food and drink
  8. Envy - the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
  9. Insinuation - an artfully indirect, often derogatory suggestion.
  10. Sloth - the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
  11. Anxiety
  12. Fear
  13. Discouragement
  14. Panic
  15. Revenge - vendetta
  16. Vanity
  17. Vainglory
  18. Hatred
  19. Resentment
  20. Bad thoughts
  21. Bad wishes
  22. Screaming kids...
...AND SEND YOU TO THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
TO BE JUDGED BY OUR LORD.

                                      ------------

REPEAT THE PRAYER A FEW TIMES and if it stops, that is what it was ------ if it does not stop, then it is not what is behind it......Thats it - it is diagnostic.

          -------------------------------------------

....to clear the air......

IN THE NAME OF JESUS,
I BIND ANY SPIRIT HERE
THAT IS NOT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,
AND SEND YOU TO THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
TO BE JUDGED BY OUR LORD

          -----------------

O PRECIOUS BLOOD WASH OVER ME;
PROTECT ME FROM THE WICKEDNESS
AND SNARES OF THE DEVIL.
        -------------------

ST MICHAEL'S PRAYER:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the divine power, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Sacramentals – exorcised water, oil, salt and incense

Sacramentals such as exorcised water, oil, said and incense are very successful in fight against evil. Every priest can exorcise water, salt and oil.

The effect of sacramentals

Every priest can use the sacramentals. Their power depends on the priest’s personal beliefs and the cooperation of the person accepting the sacramental through acts of faith, love and repentance. The power of sacramentals lies in the intercessory prayer of the Church, in the name of which the priest blesses or exorcises people and objects.

Sacramentals create a connection between the supernatural and natural worlds, and therefore they sanctify man’s life. Because of that, they are a threat for evil spirits and their value in the fight against forces of evil cannot be taken lightly. See: “Sacramentals in the Catechism”.

Sprinkling a possessed person with blessed water is an act of offering them to God. Blessed water protects people, houses, items, lets us come out triumphant of the fight against suggestions, physical and mental suffering, springing from the evil spirit. Therefore, it can also be drunk, sprayed on painful spots on the body and on everyday items. This helps to neutralize signs manifested by the evil spirit on the body, as well as on objects.

Exorcised oil is a special sort of sacramental. According to father Amorth, a roman exorcist, the oil has the ability to remove various magical, poisonous, impure meals, which found their way into the enslaved’s body through eating or drinking. Therefore, exorcised oil may be used to season food, when a suspicion that something poisonous, harmful or magical has been eaten arises. It causes a fast expulsion of the object in question. Rubbing with oil aids the work of grace in the fight with the evil spirit and his influence on the possessed person’s body.

Exorcised salt works on a given place through sprinkling in rooms considered infected by the devilish forces’ actions, e.g. in places where evil spirits were summoned, pagan or spiritistic rituals took place. It is also used in the protection of houses, homes, farm buildings and fields, if a suspicion that they are under the influence of curses arises. Salt may be added to food if a suspicion of being enchanted through a meal arises.

Blessed incense is used in specific conditions, when evil spirits overpower the enslaved person, denying them contact with their surroundings. The smoke of blessed incense irritates evil spirits, which causes them to reveal themselves and move away. This helps the priest in the recognition of evil spirits.

GOD IS LIGHT

.

Paul's argument is based upon a fundamental premise: Christians should live a dramatic transformation which is here described as having been transformed from darkness to light. In the Bible, salvation is never spoken of as a trivial matter. Those who are saved by faith in Christ are not merely improved, they are radically transformed. They have been delivered from death and given eternal life and have been saved from a life of sin to a new life which is characterized by good works (Ephesians 2:1-10). Paul's teaching and the popular perception of Christianity differ greatly. The gospel is often presented as though faith in Jesus Christ requires no great change, and that one need but to "add" Christ to his experience, to "invite Christ into his life," and then life will become more pleasant, but at little cost to the Christian. Jesus spoke of discipleship, and he cautioned those who would too quickly follow Him to "count the cost" (see Luke 9:23-24). Oh! my adorable Jesus! enable me to make a full surrender of myself to you. Oh! blessed Redeemer, I would now hold holy Communion with you. Oh! make me sincere. Give me a saving knowledge of myself. Show me my true character. Allow me not to build on a false hope, lest I cherish a false peace. Send your Holy Spirit into my heart, to enlighten my understanding, and mold my will to yours; that my affections may ever soar towards You. While thousands around me are rejecting your authority, neglecting your salvation, or darkening your counsel by words without knowledge, may I have grace, blessed Jesus, to wash in no other fountain but your precious blood; to walk by no other light, than the truth of your holy word; to journey heavenward in no other way, than by faith in you; to feed my soul on nothing but yourself, the living bread from heaven; to desire no other joy, than that which springs from union to You and communion with You. Then shall I partake of the cup of salvation, and praise you with the countless host of the redeemed in your kingdom of glory. "When I awake, I am still with you." Psalm 139:18

Jn 2:1-11 -- Jesus Changes Water Into Wine - It-tieġ f'Kana -- 2nd Sunda...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWrPLV_ZX0U
2. It-tieġ f'Kana
[Ġw:2:1] Mbagħad fit-tielet jum sar tieġ f'Kana tal-Galilija, u omm Ġesù kienet hemm. [Ġw:2:2] Ġesù kien mistieden għat-tieġ hu wkoll flimkien mad-dixxipli tiegħu. [Ġw:2:3] Billi ma kienx fadal iżjed inbid, omm Ġesù qaltlu: "Ma għandhomx inbid." [Ġw:2:4] U Ġesù qalilha: "X'hemm bejni u bejnek, mara? Is-siegħa tiegħi għadha ma waslitx." [Ġw:2:5] Omm Ġesù qalet lill-qaddejja: "Agħmlu kull ma jgħidilkom hu." [Ġw:2:6] Issa kien hemm sitt ġarar tal-ħaġar, mqiegħda hemm għar-rit tal-purifikazzjoni tal-Lhud, kull waħda minnhom tasa' xi mitt jew mija u għoxrin litru. [Ġw:2:7] Ġesù qal lill-qaddejja: "Imlew il-ġarar bl-ilma." U dawk imlewhom sax-xifer. [Ġw:2:8] Mbagħad qalilhom: "Issa ħudu minnu u newwluh lil dak li qiegħed jieħu ħsieb il-mejda." U huma marru jagħtuhulu. [Ġw:2:9] Hu daq l-ilma mibdul fi nbid; u billi ma kienx jaf mnejn ġie, għalkemm il-qaddejja li ħadu mill-ilma kienu jafu, sejjaħ lill-għarus [Ġw:2:10] u qallu: "Kulħadd l-inbid it-tajjeb iservi l-ewwel; meta mbagħad ikun ħadhom iġibu dak li jkun inqas tajjeb. Imma int l-inbid it-tajjeb erfajtu sa issa." [Ġw:2:11] Dan li għamel Ġesù f'Kana  tal-Galilija kien l-ewwel wieħed fost is-sinjali tiegħu. Bih wera l-glorja tiegħu u d-dixxipli tiegħu emmnu fih.
