Lk 7:11-17 -- Jesus Raises a Widow's Son - Ġesù jqajjem lil bin l-armla ta' Najn mill-mewt

TUESDAY GOSPEL OF WEEK 24 IN ORDINARY TIME

Readings at Mass

First reading
1 Corinthians 12:12-14,27-31

Just as a human body, though it is made up of many parts, is a single unit because all these parts, though many, make one body, so it is with Christ. In the one Spirit we were all baptised, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as citizens, and one Spirit was given to us all to drink.
Nor is the body to be identified with any one of its many parts. Now you together are Christ’s body; but each of you is a different part of it. In the Church, God has given the first place to apostles, the second to prophets, the third to teachers; after them, miracles, and after them the gift of healing; helpers, good leaders, those with many languages. Are all of them apostles, or all of them prophets, or all of them teachers? Do they all have the gift of miracles, or all have the gift of healing? Do all speak strange languages, and all interpret them? Be ambitious for the higher gifts.

PsalmPsalm 99:1-5
We are his people, the sheep of his flock.
Cry out with joy to the Lord, all the earth.
  Serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing for joy.
We are his people, the sheep of his flock.
Know that he, the Lord, is God.
He made us, we belong to him,
we are his people, the sheep of his flock.
We are his people, the sheep of his flock.
Go within his gates, giving thanks.
Enter his courts with songs of praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
We are his people, the sheep of his flock.
Indeed, how good is the Lord,
  eternal his merciful love.
He is faithful from age to age.
We are his people, the sheep of his flock.

Gospel
Lk 7:11-17 -- Jesus Raises a Widow's Son - Ġesù jqajjem lil bin l-armla ta' Najn mill-mewt

Ġesù jqajjem lil bin l-armla ta' Najn mill-mewt
[Lq:7:11] Wara dan imbagħad mar f'belt jisimha Najn, u marru miegħu d-dixxipli tiegħu u kotra kbira ta' nies. [Lq:7:12] Kif wasal qrib il-bieb  tal-belt, kienu qegħdin iġorru wieħed mejjet li ommu, mara armla, ma kellhiex ħliefu; u magħha kien hemm għadd ġmielu ta' nies mill-belt. [Lq:7:13] Kif raha l-Mulej tħassarha."Tibkix" qalilha. [Lq:7:14] Resaq, u mess it-tebut. Dawk li kienu qegħdin jerfgħuh waqfu. U hu qal: "Żagħżugħ, qiegħed ngħidlek, qum!" [Lq:7:15] U l-mejjet qam bilqiegħda u beda jitkellem. U Ġesù tah lil ommu. [Lq:7:16] In-nies kollha tkexkxu bil-biża', u bdew jagħtu glorja lil Alla u jgħidu: "Profeta kbir qam fostna" u,"Alla żar il-poplu tiegħu." [Lq:7:17] U dan il-kliem li qalu xtered mal-Lhudija u dawk l-inħawi kollha.
