Science and faith are complementary elements of human knowledge: this is the main point of the intervention at the Synod of professor Werner Arber, Nobel Prize winner for Medicine in 1978, and president of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the first Protestant to hold this office. Scientific knowledge opens up new technological applications that improve human life and the environment, helping shape the future.
